Viewing Licenses

1 From the SD-WAN Orchestrator main menu, select the Administration -> Licenses function to view the licenses that were assigned to you by your parent tenant (Reseller Partner).

Note: According to the defined Customer type, you may or may not access the Appliances and Licenses menus.

The following image shows the number of licenses that have been assigned to you (Customer 'cus26' in this example). They may be filtered by Size, Type and Status; simply click any filter button.

The Search field also enables you to find any license through its other data (Owner). Click the button to delete the Search filters.

When the window contains a significant number of licenses, the navigation functions at the bottom of the window enable you to navigate through the list.

By default, one page includes 50 rows. 20 and 100 are the other options.
The total number of pages is specified. This number changes if you select a different number of rows per page.
You can display a particular page by directly selecting it from the stack or by clicking the and buttons to move from one page forward and backward.
Click to view the first page and to view the last page of the list.

For a description of columns, refer to "The Licensing Model".

2 Click the Summary button to display a quick overview of the running (started) licenses during the current month. They can have the following Status values:
Used: licenses used by an appliance
Not used: licenses not used by an appliance
Missing: license breaches
3 Click Back to return to the Licenses window.

The Licensing Model

The licensing model covers the resources used by a Customer, including both Hardware (appliances) and Software capabilities (services). A license has a start date (month/year), a duration in months, a type and a size. The start date of the license triggers license use.

There are three categories of licenses, Perpetual Licenses, Service Licenses and tele|engine licenses.

Perpetual Licenses

These licenses are lifetime licenses. They are used for appliance activation.

Perpetual Licenses

Description

Activation

for effective activation of an appliance and access to the SD-WAN Orchestrator; applies to any type of appliance except Backup appliances.

HA

for activation and high availability of Backup appliances in cluster mode. An appliance needs HA if it uses VRRP, BGP or OSPF, or has the same virtual IP address as another appliance on the same Site.

Service Licenses

These licenses have a one month duration. They cover the services (software) running on an appliance.

Service Licenses

tele|engine License

This license has a one month duration. It covers the number of running tele|engines.

tele|engine License

Description

Remote V and C (Visibility and Control)

(S or M or L or XL)

Specific license for tele|engines.

The size of this license corresponds to the maximum number of tele|engines that can be covered by this license - S: 5, M: 20, L: 100 and XL: 500). Contrarily to physical ip|engines, tele|engine bandwidth configuration is not taken into account.

Note: when a license breach is detected because there is no Remote V and C license, the Summary window shows that a Foundation license is missing. If available, a Foundation license will be used to resolve the breach.

License Checking

License checking is executed every month or after a configuration modification, or after a license has been added, modified or deleted by Extreme Networks or your parent tenant (MSP or Reseller) and is based on your current stock of running licenses.

License Breach Notification

When a license breach is detected, e-mail messages are regularly sent to you or to your parent tenant (MSP) every day, until the breach is resolved.
